Invitation Design for a South Indian Wedding
The couple wanted to design a wedding invite that very modern and simple yet incorporate an Indian element that represented the South Indian style wedding they were planning.
We sought inspiration in the Pulli Kolam, a geometrical pattern that is typically drawn outside their homes to invite people and creatures to share their prosperity. As the various elements of the wedding came together, the traditional Kolam quickly transformed from a Ganesha to a cocktail glass.
The various colours used were picked from the gorgeous outfits that the bride has chosen to wear on her special day. We deliberately stayed away from using floral motifs, excessive foiling and a script typeface. Instead went with a clean and beautiful serif complemented with a simple gold foil frame.
